One of these things is not like the other!

"Now, because he knows that his economic theories don't work, he's been spending these last few days calling me every name in the book. Lately he's called me a socialist for wanting to roll-back the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans so we can finally give tax relief to the middle class. I don't know what's next. By the end of the week he'll be accusing me of being a secret communist because I shared my toys in kindergarten. I shared my peanut butter and jelly sandwich."
Barack Obama, 10/29/08

I'm sorry, Sharing your toys, and having the government share my income are NOT the same! Feel free to share your income with whoever you want, and I'll share mine with who I want, my church, various ministries, my friends, our sponsored kid, Hamza.

Reflections of a Cyclone moral victory

A few thoughts on this weekend's Iowa State loss to Kansas:
  • 1st half = AMAZING!
    • Holding Kansas scoreless for 30 minutes is no easy task
    • Scoring 20 on their veteran Defense, an even more improbable task
  • 3rd qtr = suicide watch
  • 4th qtr = heartbreak!
All in all, I thought it was an awesome game to go to. Ok, the Cyclones lost, but I'm unfortunately used to that. However, taking the 16th ranked team in the country to the last minute and only losing by 2 is, I believe, an encouraging sign of things to come. Coach Chizik and co. have made some vast improvements in the past two weeks. My only question, where was Bates? Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled to death that Arnaud played the whole game as QB, but why not extend our passing attack with Bates' abilities?
My other question, when are the coaches going to get some confidence in their own play-calling and stop audibling from the sideline every stinkin' play. Call a play, run it, and see what happens. Also, give it to the fullback once in a while! They will never expect it, since we haven't done it yet this year.
And question 3, whoever thought to use a power drill to slice up potatoes to make Cyfries, one word - Genius!
And Question D, where did I ever get the idea that sitting in the sun, not moving for around 4 hours, and not wearing sunscreen was a good idea?

Tech Support, Dilbert Style

A recent phone conversation, the names have been changed to protect the innocent.

Frank: Tech support, how can I help you?
Andy: Yes, we use your product, and it is not working correctly, can you help us get it going?
Frank: I'm sorry, I don't know how to do that.
Andy: huh?
Frank: Thanks for calling.
